GARDAÍ have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a motorcyclist died in a collision in Co. Cork.
The two-vehicle incident happened on the R587 near Gloun North in Dunmanway on the afternoon of August 5.
The collision, which involved a motorbike and a van, happened at around 2.30pm.
The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead the scene.
His body was taken to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem is due to take place.
No other injuries were reported.
“Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward,” the police force said in a statement.
“Any road users travelling in the area between 2:15pm and 3:00pm, who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available to Gardaí,” they added.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Clonakilty Garda Station on 023 882 1570, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
